Course content:
Choosing a light:
What does it do, why and what resources does it
use. We look at the upsides or downsides to using
different lights or settings.
Shadows:
There are many styles of shadow making and each
has its own unique look.
Lighting setups:
We look at industry standard lighting setups. The
ideas behind them and why they make sense. The
you can tweak them to suit yourself.
Materials:
Easy to use materials associated with Pro bitmaps
that make Mental Ray come alive
Arch+Design materials:
Designed for mental ray with pre-sets for
designers. More to play with than Pro Materials
and more to go wrong.
Car Paint Material:
Designed to reproduce the complex surface of a
car paint job.
Glass Material:
Making 3d glass behave like glass is so many ways
